Charles Colvis, Senior Vice President & Senior Lender
I began my career with Buena Vista in November 2002. I started as a Loan Officer and currently serve as Senior Vice President and Senior Lender. I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with family and coaching football. The highlight of my job is to experience the expression on my clients face when they realize their dreams have become a reality.
Vicki Laramore, Assistant Vice President & Lender
I have been with Buena Vista National Bank since September 1996. I have been involved in many aspects of the loan department from support staff to lending. I feel like I have learned loans from the ground up and enjoy being able to help people achieve their goals. My ideal client is one that asks questions. I like for the customer to understand the credit process, whether it is a small loan to build credit or a home loan. Chester is my hometown and I am happy to be able to meet customer needs both locally and non-locally. I am very happy that Buena Vista offers the possibility to bank with us without living here.
Josh Brown, Vice President & Lender
I am originally from Chester and I’ve enjoyed living and working throughout Randolph County, including: Steeleville, Coulterville and Sparta. I have over 20 years of banking experience in all areas of lending, including Business/Commercial, Residential Mortgages, Personal Loans, Agricultural and Aircraft lending.

Greg Grueter, Vice President & Lender
I’ve been in the banking community for more than 33 years – and while banking was not my initial target for a career, it has become my passion over these decades.
My career is very rewarding, being able to work daily with my friends and neighbors – who just also happen to be my customers – helping them determine their financial needs and to meet their financial goals. I pride myself with being able to relate to my customers – truly empathizing with their core concerns to come to the best viable resolution. I love having conversation with them, whether it’s talking about family, farming, military, new home construction, stepping into the rental business or into the retail business.
I grew up in a small farm community with eight siblings. This foundation taught me the value of relationship – something that a price tag cannot measure. I keep my door wide open to all my customers and always welcome them in to visit, for this reason.
I don’t have a crystal ball on my desk nor will I ever be able to solve all the concerns brought to me. BUT I promise I will not only take the time to talk and visit, but I will take an interest in YOU.
Prairie du Rocher Lending Team
Kim Deterding, Lender
My banking career began March of 2001. I joined the Buena Vista National Bank team in February 2018 as a successor to Dennis Melliere. During my time with Buena Vista, I work in the loan department where I meet with customers looking to purchase their first home or car to farmers looking to put crops in the ground or buy a piece of equipment. I enjoy meeting new faces and always appreciate the familiar ones. I look forward to meeting new people and helping them achieve their dreams.

Cole Stenzel, Senior Vice President & Business Development Officer
I have been in banking for over 15 years and have worked with BV for 12 years. I grew up in Red Bud and it is an absolute privilege to consult and assist our clients with some of the most important decisions in their lifetime, whether it be a new home purchase, a new business venture, a business expansion, etc. It is very gratifying to see the people that we have helped achieve their dreams and be successful in life.

Chris Pickett, Lender
I have been with Buena Vista National Bank for over two years as a Loan Officer. The best part about working at BVNB is the true family atmosphere and the genuine people that work here. The most gratifying part of my job are the relationships formed while helping our clients through some of the most important decisions in their lives. No matter where you come from or what you do, everyone has goals that they want to achieve. I get the pleasure of assisting our customers in achieving those goals through the loan process. I was born and raised in Waterloo, IL. This midwestern upbringing has greatly shaped my morals, values and beliefs. Outside of work you can most likely find me hanging out with my family and friends at a local event, or in the woods looking for my golf ball.
Dan Miller, Vice President & Lender
My banking career began in April of 1977 as a Teller/Bookkeeper and over time, worked in all areas of the bank, eventually becoming a Loan Officer. In small banks you have to do a little of everything. Over the years, I have met a lot of people and always strive to give the best service that I can to all of my customers. Maintaining good customer service and treating everyone with respect is something that is important to me. Working in the community I grew up in and live in, with people that I have known for a long time, at a locally owned community bank is something that is very rewarding to me. I look forward to continuing relationships with my present customers and invite anyone to stop in to discuss their banking needs.
